Grave No 1

Here lieth interred the body of Aquila Braithwaite of Hightown who departed this life the 5th day of July 1788 Age 84 years
Also Elizabeth his wife who departed this life the 26th day of October 1749 age 50 years. Also Mary daughter of the above said Aquila Braithwaite who departed this life on the 12th day of May 1747 Age 5 year
Also Susanna his second wife who departed this life on the 31st day of December 1776 age 58 years
Also Samuel son of the above said Aquila Braithwaite who departed this life 17th day of May 1808 age 74 years
Also James Braithwaite of Liversedge Lodge who died 5th  October 1831 age 64 years
Also Hannah wife of the late William Braithwaite of Birds Royd Rastrick who departed this life 28th  August 1859 age 55 years.

In memory of Thomas Greenwood late School Master of Clifton
who departed this life 27th day of April 1811 aged 56
Also of three Children, Hannah, Robert and Henry all of whom died in their infancy
Likewise of William son of the above mentioned Thomas Greenwood who departed this life the 7th day of September 1813 aged 28 years
Also Hannah wife of the above named Thomas Greenwood who departed this life on the 19th of July 1850 in her 73rd year
Also Sarah daughter of the above named Thomas Greenwood who died on the 26th day of July 1849 aged 66 years
Also Charles son of the above named Thomas Greenwood who died on the 23rd day of January 1852 aged 56 years.

Grave No 3

Here was interred the body of William the son of Peter Lord of Mirfield,
who died at Wike, 20th April in the year of our lord 1762 and in the 50th year of his age.
We mourn not now
That thou to heaven are taken
But that thou haste
Thy friend so soon forsaken.

Grave No 4

Here lie interred the remains of three children namely John and Robert sons and Mary daughter of Jeremy and Elizabeth Brearley of Clifton who departed this life in the eighteen century.
Dear parents wipe your weeping eyes
We shall but slumbering here remain
Till the last trumpet sounds awhile
And call us up to life again
Also George son of the above said Jeremy and Elizabeth Brearley who died the 11 of June1814 aged 31 years.

Grave No 5

In memory of William Hargrave son of Elizabeth of Hightown Who departed this life the 1st day of July 1808 in the 39th year of his age
Unpitying death and destroyer of time
Here fixed my period Ere I reached my prime
But in my god, I trust who died to save
To rise triumphant over them and gave for you oh reader every earthly bliss
Remember; close in a scene like these
Scorn then the shadows, instant which departed
And to external pleasure rise your hearts.
Also John and Thomas Hargrave sons of the above Elizabeth Hargrave Who died in their infancy

Grave No 6

Here lieth interred the body of Fanny the wife of John Bell of Soyland in the Parish of Halifax who departed this life the 24th day of February Anno Domini 1788 in the 32nd year of her age.
Do not fret for me my husband dear I am not dead but sleeping hear.
Come to this place my grave to see.
Wait a while and follow me.
Also Joseph Rayner of Clifton, Brother of the above Fanny who died 25th January 1841 age 59 years
Also Sarah relict of the said Joseph Rayner who departed this life the 24th day of December 1824 in the 67th year of her age.

Here lieth interred the body of William Rayner of Clifton who departed this life
the 9th day of April 1793 in the 82nd year of his age
Also the body of John son of the abovesaid William Rayner who departed this
life December 20th 1832 in the 82nd year of his age
Also the body of Joseph Rayner who departed this life April 21st 1848
in the 75th year of this age
Also Mary wife of the abovesaid Joseph who departed this life
March 17th 1844 in the 75th year of her age.

Here lieth interred the bodies of David and Jonas, sons of David Holdsworth of Birkby
David departed this life March 1746
Jonas departed this life September 7th 1758.
Also George Holdsworth who departed this life April 20th 1825 aged 80 years
Also Willie Holdsworth, son of #### and Emma Holdsworth who died September 3rd #### aged 3 years eleven months.

David Child of Dog house who died 27th October 1815 aged 75 years
Also Mary the wife of the above David Child who departed this life the 28th day of November 1830, aged 81 years.
Also Mary the wife of Robert Parkinson who departed this life November 8th 1845 aged 26 years
Also Joseph Child son of the above David Child who departed this life May 24th 1853 aged 58 years
Also Frances wife of the above Joseph Child who departed this life November 20th 1854 aged 63 years.

Grave No 10

Here was interred the body of John, the son of Thomas Popplewell of Hartshead who departed this life on the 18th December in the 9th year of his age A D 1741
Also Elizabeth the daughter of John and Fanny Woodcock who died on January 29th 1847 aged 11 years 4 months.
Also the above mentioned John Woodcock who died on 3rd June 1847 aged 47 years
Then glad I'll lay this body down
Thy servant Lord attend
And though my life of memory crowned
With a triumphant end.
Also Fanny wife of the above John Woodcock who died on June 15th 1880 aged 86 years
Also Joseph Lee Woodcock son of the above who died May 10th 1892 aged 58 years.
Also John Woodcock born July 20th 1828 died December 8th 1896.

Grave No 11

In memory of David, son of Thomas and Hannah Hinchliff, of Hightown who died on the 25th day of April 1847 aged 11 years
Also six children who died in their infancy
Also the above named Thomas Hinchliff. who died the 10th day of September 1873 aged 66 years
Also Hannah wife of the above named who died 23rd day of February 1866 aged 63 years.

Grave No 12

Here lieth the body of Hannah the wife of Jacob Ingham of Hartshead who departed this life on the 11th day of November 1781 in the 60th year of her age.
She was a tender Mother and also a loving wife.
Also three of their children William, Mary and Benjamin, who died in the first year of their age
Also Mary, daughter of Joseph Wadsworth, Granddaughter of the above who departed this life on the 6th day of November 1783 in the second year of her age.

Grave No 13

In memory of William Popplewell of Robertown who died on the 3rd day of August 1856 aged 65 years of age
Sarah wife of the above William Popplewell who died on the 29th day of April 1868 aged 74 years
Also John William Popplewell son of the above who died on the 1st day of January 1891 aged 70 years
Also Martha wife of the above who died 23rd of November 1903 aged 80 years

Grave No 14

Here resteth the body of Isaac Peel of green in the township of Clifton who departed this life on the 26thday of October 1770 aged 44 years.
Also the remains of William Naylor of the aforesaid place and the following relict of the above
Isaac Peel. Viz. Hannah, Nancy, Mary , Sarah the wife of James Kershaw All lived and died in the 18thcentury.
Here also rests the body of Martha Peel wife of the aforesaid Isaac Peel, sister to the above
said William Naylor. And mother to the above children who departed this life on the 12th day of April 1808 aged 81 years.

In Memory of Frances Mary daughter of James and Elizabeth Woodcock of Hightown who died January 27 1858 in her 6 year
Also of the above James Woodcock who died May 11 1889 aged 63 years.
Also of John James son of Alfred and Ann North of Batley born April 1 1871 died June 15 1900.
Also Elizabeth wife of the above James Woodcock who died October13 1901 aged 71 years.

Grave No 16

In memory of David Holdsworth of Hillhouse Nr Huddersfield. Inn keeper
who departed this life September 23rd aged 72 years
Also George the son of David and Susanna who departed this life February 21st 1846 aged 40 years
Afflictions some long time we bore
Physicians were in vain
But death gave ease, when death did please
And freed us from our pain
Also Nancy daughter of David and Susannah Holdsworth who departed this life September 23rd 1804 aged 3 years
Also Susannah wife of the above David Holdsworth who died April 9th 1856 aged 81 years.

In memory of Jane the wife of William Hartley of Mirfield  who departed this life April 9th 1843 in the 31st year of her age
Also Mary Jane daughter of the above who September 15th 19XX aged 76 years.

Here lieth interred the body of William Lord of Hartshead, who departed this life the 6th January in the 54th year of his age Ano domini 1735.
My life like grass
Cut down it was in half
Hence away I mourn not
I pray for him that
Freed from thrall.

In memory of George Berry of Clifton who departed this life April 24th 1849 age 24 years
Also Zillah Berry wife of the above who departed this life July 20th 1872 aged 48 years
Also Ann Whiteley daughter of the above died December 16th 1917 aged 70 years.

Here lieth interred the body of Nanny, Late wife of John Wilkinson of Clifton who departed this life the 28th day of May A D 1792 in the 30th year of her age
Also the body of George their son who died in Infancy
In memory of Crispin son the above named John and Nanny Wilkinson who departed this life in Buenos Ares in South America July 3rd 1821 aged 40 years.
By foreign hands Thy dying eyes were closed
By foreign hands Thy icy limbs composed
By foreign hands Thy relics were interred
By strangers laid and by strangers mourned
In heap of dust all that above remains of thee
In all thou are and all that live shall be.

Mary Daughter of Joseph Womersley of Clifton who departed this life October 14th 1812 aged 8 months
Also Anthony son of the above Joseph and Ann Wormersley who departed this life February 18th 1840 aged 18 years
Also Joseph Womersley Father of the above who departed this life April 16th 1849 aged 66 years.

In memory of Henry son of Henry and Ellen Wood of Clifton, who departed this life on the 19th day of August 1831 aged 21 years
Also of Henry, Father of the of the above who departed this life on the 6th day of July in the year of our Lord 1833 aged 57 years.
Also Joseph, son of the above Henry and Ellen Wood who departed this life March 5th 1856 aged 32 years
Also Ellen wife of the above named Henry Wood who died December 1st 1857 aged 80 years.

aged 60 years
Also of the above John Walker who departed this life 12th August 1879 age 76 years.

Wilson the son of William Jackson of Hartshead Hall who departed this life 13th day of April 1837 9th year of his age
Also Martha daughter of the above parents who died 20th day of March 1840 aged 12
Also Frances daughter of the above who died December 12th 1846 aged 12 years
Also Hannah daughter of the above parents who died Sunderland October 13th 1854 and was interred here the following day aged 19 years
Also William Jackson father of the above who departed this life February 8th 1876 in the 69 year of his age.
Also Elizabeth relict of the above William Jackson who died January 7th 1877 aged 72 years.

in the third year of his age.
Also Abraham their son, who died May 6th 1818 aged 9 years.

Also Hannah, wife of the above named George Jackson who died 21st March 1852 aged 82 years.

Matthew Wood of Clifton, who departed this life May 28th 1839. In the 53rd year of his age
Also David son of the above mentioned Matthew Wood who departed this life July 10th 1847 aged 22
Also 2 Children, who died in their infancy
Also Maria wife of the above Matthew Wood who died November 5th 1853 aged 66 years
Also Nancy daughter of the above who died July 17th 1864 aged 52 years.

Frances daughter of James and Mary Hall Heckmondwike late of Hartshead who departed this life November 20th 1867 aged 17 years 10 months

In affectionate remembrance of the above named James Hall born July 7th 1825 died February 25th 1882
In affectionate remembrance Mary relict of the above James Hall who died March 20th 1891 aged 65 years.

Also Ellen daughter of the above who died April 13th 1834 aged 18 months
Also Nancy wife of  the above George Elsworth who died May 7th 1853 aged 52 years
Also George Elsworth husband of the above who departed this life January 29th 1865 aged 73 years.

Sacred to the memory of Joseph Pearson, son of John and Mary Pearson Bottom of Kirklees Park who departed this life 25th August 1834 in the 34th year of his age.
Also Martha daughter of the above John and Mary Pearson who died in her infancy
In the midst of life, we are in death.
Also Mary wife of the above John Pearson who died April 28th 1847 aged 68 years.
Likewise, the above John Pearson who died October 30th 1849 aged 76 years
Also Ann daughter of the above John and Mary Pearson who died October 28th 1850 aged 31 years.

Sacred to the memory of John Wilkinson of Clifton Card Maker who departed this life April 26 1838 aged 82 years.
Also of Samuel Wilkinson of Santiago de Chile South America Merchant son of the aforesaid John Wilkinson who died Sept 28 1828 aged 41 years.
In memory of George Ramsden of Hartshead Grand-son of the above John Wilkinson who died May 18 1892 in his 88 year.
Also of Sam Wilkinson Ramsden son of Crispin and Hannah Ramsden of Hightown who died June 2 1917 aged 76 years.

Sacred to the memory of Patience, the wife of John Berry of Clifton who died on July 3rd 1831 in the 83rd year of her life
Also the above named John Berry, died December 31st 1851 in the 84th year of his age
Also William son of Matthew and Elizabeth Berry who died August 19th 1834 aged 1 year and eleven months
Also Lettice their daughter who died March 24th 1846 aged nine months
Also the above mentioned Elizabeth Berry, died October 13th 1867 in the 67th year of her life
Also the above mentioned Matthew Berry, who died January 20th 1868 aged 66 year.

In memory of William son of John and Nancy Rawson of Hightown who departed this life February 5th 1830 in the 20th year of his age.
Refrain your tears, pray shed no more
Because your son is gone before
In love he lived, in peace he died
His life was asked but was denied.
Also of the above said John Rawson who departed this life March 8th 1831 aged 43 years
Resigned to god we here to earth commend
A tender Father and constant friend
Blest are the children who such fathers have
As smile in death and triumph over the grave.
In Affectionate Remembrance of Daniel Hinchliffe of Hightown who died April 6 1891 in the 75 year of his age.
I know that my Redeemer cometh.
Also of Ann wife of the above Daniel Hinchliffe who died June 12 1901 in the 82 year of her age.

When their poor mortals did decease
Render they had days of grace, and this is thine !
Secure thy peace though honour, pomp and worldly wealth
Are hunted with learning's to know himself a far superior pleasure gains
Here also lieth the body of Anna, the wife of William Stockwell who died 14th day of January 1816 aged 81 years.
Here rest in peace beneath this tomb.
Till shiloh the restorer come.

Also Hannah wife of the above named Joseph Normington who departed this life on the 14th November 1829 aged 74 years
Also Jonathan son of the above named Joseph and Hannah Normington who died on the 15th February 1831 aged 40 years.
Likewise John Normington son of the above named parents who departed this life on the 26th day of May 1836
Also Joseph son of Martha Normington who died on December 28th 1840 aged 20 years
Also Hannah of the above named Martha Normington who died on October 28th 1847 aged 17 years.

Here lieth the body of John Wilkinson of Clifton who departed this life the 24 day of March 1797 aged 70 years
Also the body of Susannah wife of the above John Wilkinson who died Jan 1st 1811 aged 86 years.
